The Painting Show is an experimental talk show that seeks to explore and interpret celebrity psyches. Using a carefully structured methodology, we present the many complexities of a celebrity guest not just to the audience, but to the guest himself in new and exciting ways.
The show consists of three parts – an animated interview, a multimedia analysis, and a painting segment. These combine like a synthetic dream, a psychedelic experience without the drugs. It’s a show that helps our guest take a very different look at himself, and hopefully, by extension, inspires the audience to do the same. It’s also an opportunity to challenge pop media perceptions, a chance to show the world the humanity of public figures who have been distorted or manipulated in the zeitgeist.
By the end of the Painting Show, the audience is forced to deeply question the tabloid grotesquerie that has previously been their only sense of who these celebrities are.
